A GOOD CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION FIVE-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'BEAUMONT ADAMS', serial no. 40923,
circa 1854, with octagonal blued 5 3/4in. barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight, borderline engraved solid frame signed on the top-strap 'F. GATES, GUNMAKER. DERBY', standing notch rear-sight, plain blued cylinder, chequered walnut one-piece grip with iron cap and articulated rammer mounted to left hand side of barrel, the whole retaining the majority of its original blued finish where appropriate and together with its oak storage case, compartmented and lined in green baize and containing a mould, nipple-key, powder-flask, oil-bottle and cleaning rod
