circa 1860, with blued 5 1/2in. octagonal barrel, crescent fore-sight, sighting groove to the top-strap, the side signed respectively 'P. WEBLEY & SON' and 'ST JAMES'S LONDON', solid frame with spring tab arbor release, plain blued percussion cylinder with additional plain blued interchangeable.442 cylinder, double-action trigger mechanism, chequered walnut one-piece grip, provision for lanyard at heel and an articulated rammer mounted on the left hand side with an additional plunge ejector mounted to the right, complete with its makers oak case compartmented and lined in blue baize and containing a full complement of accessories including a mahogany loading rod, pewter oil bottle, brass bullet mould, bone nipple-pot, a fine lozenge-bodied powder-flask, a turn-screw, nipple-key, caps and lubricating compound plus provision for the spare cylinder (case missing lock escutcheon)
