circa 1858, with octagonal 6in. barrel, scroll engraving to barrel throat, bead and pillar foresight, standing notch rear-sight, border engraved solid frame, plain five-shot cylinder with rope carved border to leading edge, inverted 'Y' shaped safety spring to left hand side, spurless hammer, chequered walnut semi saw-handled grip, domed iron grip-cap, Tranter's Patent exposed cocking trigger and articulated rammer mounted to left hand side of barrel, the whole stripped of finish with loss to engraved detail
