A CASED 10-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-GUN, serial no. 1944,
circa 1844, with 30 3/4in. barrels signed on the top-rib (rubbed barely legible), 'CL' maker's mark to underside, fully engraved top-tang, borderline and scroll engraved bar-action locks signed in banners 'C. LANCASTER, LONDON', engraved hammers with carved sides, chequered walnut half-stock (small losses to fore-end edges) with iron furniture and original worm-ended ramrod (exposed iron surfaces lightly pitted with loss to detail) and complete with a period brass bound walnut storage case, relined and possibly recompartmented in green baize with reproduction labels inside lid, the tray also containing an original powder and shot flask with later cleaning accessories (lock absent)
