A 20-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING GUN BY JOHN MANTON, serial no. 10054, IN A LATER CASE, for 1830-31, with 29 3/4in. twist barrels, the raised top-rib with faint traces of signature, bead fore-sight, vented platinum plugs, border and scroll engraved locks signed 'JN MANTON & SON PATENT', the hammers moulded for possibly original gravitational stops, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist (cracked through), patent grip-safety engraved iron furniture, clipped corner escutcheon behind top-tang, brass-mounted ramrod, in a later home produced wood case lined and compartmented in green baize.
