C. GOLDEN 12-BORE SIDELEVER HAMMERGUN, serial no. 12922, circa 1887, 27 3/4in. shortened black powder only damascus barrels (some dents and pits), the rib engraved 'C. GOLDEN. BEDFORD.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, carved percussion fences, sidelever opening, rebounding bar action locks with carved c-scroll hammers (some damage to hammer heads), border and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining traces of colour-hardening and renewed finish, 13 3/4in. stock including steel buttplate, fore-end with incorporating W.S. Riley fore-end release catch patent 1825 of 17th June 1875 use number 796, and with horn finial, some losses to fore-end leading edge, weight 7lb. 1oz., in a Westley Richards oak and leather single guncase
