A PAIR OF 28-BORE FLINTLOCK CONTINENTAL HOLSTER PISTOLS, UNSIGNED, no visible serial numbers,
probably Turkish circa 1800, with triple-staged round iron 13 1/2in. barrels, the breech-ends chisel carved and engraved with scrolls and arabesques, brass top-tangs, flat-faced bevel-edged curved locks chisel engraved en-suite, swan-necked cocks with lozenge jaws and pans, walnut full-stocks inlet with yellow metal wire decoration (some small losses to inlays, repairs to wood), the original long side-spurred buttcaps replaced with wood and wire inlays, brass trigger-guards and tangs, chequered fore-ends and no provision for ramrods (one pistol not holding on cock and lacking nose-band)
