A 12-BORE ROTARY-UNDERLEVER HAMMERGUN, serial no. 5554,
circa 1870, 29 7/8in. nitro reproved (in 2014) bold damascus barrels, broad rib engraved 'JAMES BURROW. MAKER. 116 FISHERGATE. PRESTON. NO. 5554', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both, Jones patent rotary-underlever, carved percussion fences, elongated top strap, rebounding sidelocks with low spurred hammers, fine border and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining very slight traces of colour-hardening and finish, 13 3/8in. stock including horn buttplate, fore-end with elliptic curved horn finial, weight 6lb. 14oz.
