A RARE CASED .320 (S/R) LEVAUX PATENT POCKET REVOLVER RETAILED BY WILLIAM GOLDEN, HUDDERSFIELD, no visible serial number,
circa 1872, with nickel-plated octagonal 3 1/2in. Birmingham proved barrel, large moulded hinged barrel-mount, break-open frame with pull-back thumb-catch, plain six-shot cylinder with external ratchet locking and full-ring style ejector, double action mechanism with guarded trigger (trigger return spring at fault) and finely chequered walnut semi saw-handled grips, much original plated finish remaining, in its period English market oak casing lined in green baize, parchment William Golden label inside lid and with a cleaning rod and load tray
