A PAIR OF 12-BORE SINGLE-TRIGGER 1897 PATENT DETACHABLE-LOCK EJECTORS, serial no. 16211 / 2,
circa 1901, 28in. replacement nitro barrels (by the makers in 1998, barrel numbers 19884 / 5), the ribs engraved 'WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO. ENGLAND.' and gold-inlaid '1' and '2' at the breech ends, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, scroll-back treble-grip actions incorporating J. Deeley and L.B. Taylor patent hand-detachable locks, patent no. 17731 of 28th July 1897, use numbers 351 and 343, the toplevers engraved 'Westley Richards Patent Ejector' and gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, detachable floorplates, fine acanthus scroll engraving, the sides with 'WESTLEY RICHARDS' engraved in scrolling banners, the triggerguards with hare and rabbits, retaining much renewed colour-hardening and finish, 15in. highly-figured replacement stocks with matching fore-end woods, the fore-ends with beaded border and acanthus scroll engraved Deeley & Edge patent release catches, gold-inlaid '1' and '2' and with horn finials, weight 6lb. 12oz., in their brass-cornered leather-bound oak case, the lid outer marked 'LORD WILLIAM PERCY.'
