circa 1863, with octagonal 6 1/2in. barrel marked on the top-flat 'MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTONS, ILION N.Y.' (rubbed) over a line of patents to '1859' (only partially legible), white metal conical fore-sight, sighting groove to the top-strap, six-shot cylinder with full-length flutes, plain iron frame, brass trigger-guard, two-piece smooth walnut grips and hinged under-barrel rammer, the whole stained with areas of re-finishing and mild pitting
