READING & NEWBURY.', the breech-end with acanthus scroll detailing, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, treble-grip action, automatic safety with silver inlaid 'SAFE' detail, border and acanthus scroll detailing, the makers name in a scrolling banner, retaining slight traces of original colour-hardening and finish, 14 1/4in. stock, weight 5lb. 14oz.
