A CASED .41 (RIMFIRE) COLT No.3 DERRINGER PISTOL, serial no. 6155,
circa 1878, with re-blued 2 1/2in. barrel signed 'COLT' along the top and inlaid in gold (possibly later), inlaid gold band at muzzle (again possibly later), nickel-plated open brass frame with calibre marking, smooth walnut birdshead grips, spur trigger and exposed hammer, in an English market casing with burr walnut veneered lid, blue baize-lined interior, two lidded compartments and containing also an iron cleaning rod
