A 12-BORE 1887 PATENT ROUND-ACTION TRIGGERPLATE-ACTION EJECTOR, serial no. 5591,
for 1903, 29in. nitro chopperlump barrels, the rib engraved 'JOHN DICKSON & SON. 63 PRINCES STREET. EDINBURGH.' (refreshed), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and 3/4 choke, left wall at 19, some pits, Dickson patent round-action incorporating patents 9399 and 10621 of 1887, use number 1076, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, fine border and acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, brushed and blued finish overall, 15in. figured stock including 7/8in. recoil pad, weight 6lb. 8oz., in a brass-cornered pigskin leather case


Provenance: The makers records list the gun as having 29in. barrels, sold on 12th November 1903
