dated for 1860, with 39in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, ordnance marks and stamps at breech, cheese-head tang-screw, borderline engraved lock marked 'TOWER' and with 'V.R.' and crown device to tail, walnut full-stock (well refinished) retaining the stocker's stamp of 'F.W. BIRD' to side cheek and a 'BIRMINGHAM' rework roundel to the right side of butt along with the number '22', brass furniture, the heel-plate spur marked 'N' over 'YWG' over '754', three iron barrel-bands and provision for ramrod (absent)
