circa 1860's, with octagonal 4in. barrel signed on the top flat 'MANHATTAN FIREARMS CO NEWARK N J PATENTED MARCH 8 1864', blade front sight and London proof marks to the left barrel flat, plain open iron frame, traces of engraving on the six-shot cylinder with London proof marks and twelve locking notches, single action mechanism, brass backstrap and trigger-guard, smooth flared walnut grips and under barrel loading lever, all matching numbers, the whole polished bright throughout
