circa 1830, with blued turn-off 3in. barrel, engraved band at muzzle, scroll engraved rounded boxlock action signed 'A F GERDING' with London proof marks, central dolphin-head hammer and concealed automatic trigger, finely chequered walnut grip with white metal band at heel and rectangular clipped corner escutcheon engraved 'G M', with further similar vacant escutcheon at wrist, strong amount of finish remaining
