circa 1985, with polished 9 1/2in. blade false edged for the last 7in., the forte signed J.E. MIDDLETON & SONS, ROCKINGHAM STREET, SHEFFIELD', substantial nickel-silver boat-shaped cross-guard, slightly waisted grip with polished horn scale held via six pins, one small age stain to left side of blade but appearing unused, in a blue satin-lined wood presentation case with clip closure and together with a brown leather scabbard
