A PAIR OF 12-BORE 'PREMIERE' BAKER 1906 PATENT ASSISTED-OPENING SIDELOCK EJECTORS, serial no. 6623 / 4,
circa 1946, 25 1/8in. nitro chopperlump barrels, matt Churchill-ribs gold-inlaid 'XXV' and '1' and '2' at the breech ends, the tubes engraved 'E. J. CHURCHILL. (GUNMAKERS) LTD. ORANGE STREET GUNWORKS. LEICESTER SQUARE. LONDON.' and with bold acanthus scroll detailing at the breech ends, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/2 and 1/4 choke (No.1) and approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke (No.2), minor dents No.2, incorporating W. Baker patent assisted-opening mechanism, patent no. 26903 of 27th November 1906, slender fences, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, double rolled-edge triggerguards, bold acanthus scroll engraving with ornate bordering, the lockplates with 'E. J. CHURCHILL', in scrolled cartouches, (No.2 right lockplate with 'E.J. CHURHILL'), the undersides with 'PREMIERE FINEST QUALITY', bright and blued finish overall, 14 7/8in. pistolgrip stocks with pistolgrip-caps and 1 7/16in. wooden extensions with buttplates, weight 6lb. 6oz., in their lightweight leather 'THE V.C. GUNCASE' double motor case
