A 40-BORE FLINTLOCK HOLSTER PISTOL, inventory no. 16,
circa 1760, with iron 11 1/2in. barrel, the first half profusely chisel carved in relief with scrolls and shells around a central depiction of a standing stag, the forward section of barrel with raised moulded sighting rib signed 'IOH, IAC, KUCHENREUTER' in a yellow metal inlay, recessed muzzle, shallow blade fore-sight with inlaid foot, triple inlet poincons at breech, the top with a figure on horseback with the letters 'I' 'I' & 'K', the left and right with a crown and the same letters, standing notch rear-sight with two additional folding leaves, flat chisel-carved lock with gilded background, lozenge-shaped pan with unbridled frizzen, swan-necked cock with en-suite carving to the lock-plate (top-jaw and screw absent), walnut full-stock with moulded borders alongside the ramrod channel and around the finial and relief chisel carving around the apron and ramrod throat, rococo carved and gilded brass mounts, single set trigger and faceted ramrod pipes (ramrod absent, loss to fore-end tip)
