circa 1830, with 1 3/8in. octagonal turn-off barrel (brushed bright), engraved band at muzzle, top flat signed 'W POWELL', Birmingham proofs, scroll engraved rounded boxlock action with central dolphin-head hammer, top tang push-forward safety, finely chequered walnut bag-shape grip (rubbed) with rectangular clipped corner white-metal escutcheon engraved 'FR' at wrist, scroll engraved white-metal butt-cap, concealed automatic trigger, together with a small copper powder flask with pheasant design in high relief
