1862 series circa 1866, with 5in. octagonal barrel, the top-flat signed 'E.M. REILLY & CO. OXFORD ST. LONDON', engraved band at muzzle, crescent fore-sight, borderline engraved solid frame with sighting groove to top-strap, five-shot recessed cylinder with friction spring, side loading gate, double action mechanism, chequered walnut semi saw-handled grip, shallow domed butt-cap with no provision for ejector and guarded trigger
