A FINE & UNIQUE DAMASCUS BLADED & VIVECA SAHLIN SCRIMSHAWED 'LORD OF THE RINGS' THEMED SPORTING-KNIFE,
commissioned by the vendor in 2008, with hand forged Ekland damascus drop-point 3 1/4in. blade, the back edge with inlet white metal panel inscribed 'MAIHKEL EKLAND', damascus bolsters, smooth mammoth-bone scales finely scrimshawed by Viveca Sahlin with perceived images from Tolkien's novel 'Lord of the Rings', the left hand panel also inscribed 'Tell me a story', the right with Sahlin's signature, in a moulded leather sheath, the whole appearing unused
Provenance: This knife showcases two of Sweden's top artisans of recent times. The scrimshaw work is amongst Sahlin's best examples
