dated for 1878, with 33 3/4in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight, broad elevating rear-sight with set ranges, octagonal form receiver and breech, the breech signed on the top-flat 'DANZIG' below a crown, model designation and date to receiver, matching number bolt with straight handle, flag safe to rear, walnut full-stock with traces of ordnance stamps (toe crudely repaired), two iron barrel-bands, sling swivels and nose-cap, under barrel jag-tipped clearing rod and applied brass trigger-guard bow
