for 2005, 24in. nitro chopperlump barrels, heavily matted sight rib with open sights and single folding leaf sight, matt fronts with gold highlighted sight lines and the sight flat gold-inlaid in script '150x' and 60x', quickly-detachable sight mount bases, matted ramp-mounted bead fore-sight with flip-up moonsight, the rib engraved '.375 H&H', the tubes engraved 'J. PURDEY & SONS. LONDON. ENGLAND.', treble-grip action with short side-bolsters and side-clips, removable striker discs, manual tang safety with bolting lever, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, articulated front trigger, rolled-edge triggerguard, the fences deeply carved in high relief with stylised acanthus leaves, the action, sideplates and furniture finely carved with bold foliate and acanthus designs on a finely matted background, the makers name in scrolling banners to the lockplates, the rear of the lockplates with finely engraved game scenes in bulino style, the left with two Cape buffalo, the right with fighting male lions, the underside with an African bull elephant, the toplever with the portrait of a lioness, the triggerguard with the portrait of a leopard, the triggerguard signed 'G. Steduto. Creative Art' in script, 15in. highly-figured pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece, steel pistolgrip-cap (with trap) carved en suite with foliate designs, sling swivels and including 1in. leather covered recoil pad, the fore-end furniture engraved en suite and signed 'PURDEY' at the knuckle, weight 10lb. 1oz., in its lightweight brass-cornered leather case with blue baize interior (provision for a telescopic sight), gold-tooled leather trade label and a canvas and leather outer cover
