dated 1885, with 29 1/2in. sighted barrel with proof and inspection marks, receiver bridge with mark designation of 'III N.Z. 505', breech signed 'BSA Co' with Broad Arrow, 'WD' and inspection mark and serial numbered on the hinge and underside of block, lock with crown over 'V.R' and 'BSA Co.1885' with lock-viewer's mark, walnut full-stock (crack below lock), the top of wrist stamped 'N.Z. 505', Birmingham Broad Arrow roundel to right of butt, iron furniture, complete with sling swivels but lacking clearing rod, heavy service wear to wood
