dated for 1917 and signed to a British Officer, with 6in. barrel, break-open frame with automatic ejecting fluted cylinder, chequered hard rubber grips, the backstrap engraved 'CAPT. R.M. MIDDLETON' in script, provision for lanyard ring at heel (ring absent) much finish remaining
Provenance: Captain Ralph Maxwell Middleton was seconded to the Black Watch and a member of the Transvaal Scottish. He served in the Western Desert during World War Two. After he was demobbed, he retained a rank of Major in the Territorials
