circa 1860, with ordnance proved three-groove rifled 33in. barrel signed 'MURCOTT' together with the serial number on the top of barrel, block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, small 'L.A.C.' stamp at breech, cheese-head tang-screw, colour hardened borderline engraved unsigned lock and hammer, chequered walnut full-stock with blacked brass furniture except for three iron barrel-bands, the tang also marked with the serial number and blacked jag-headed iron ramrod, fair amount of finish throughout, fitted with a chained nipple protector
