A 16-BORE LEBEDA PATENT TRIGGERGUARD-UNDERLEVER HAMMERGUN, serial no. 10352,
circa 1870, 28 1/2in. black powder blank only reproved fine twist barrels by Pondevaux of St. Etienne, the rib engraved 'A.V. LEBEDA A PRAGUE', the breech ends ornately banded with gold crescents and stars, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored true cyl. in both, Lebeda patent action with permanently-attached fore-end with side-opening lever grip, sprung extractor operating lever, scrolled two-piece triggerguard with integral pull back opening lever, carved percussion fences, the top strap with small blank silver oval escutcheon, non-rebounding back-action locks with ornately decorated hammers, (both repaired at spurs), articulated front trigger, fine line and scroll border engraving with ornate gold inlaid decoration, finely engraved game scene vignettes of hound and fowl, the lockplates signed 'LEBEDA' and 'A PRAGUE' respectively, the triggerguard with a further vignette of a lone grouse, the underside of the action with 'LEBEDAs PATENT', repair to triggerguard tang, 14 1/8in. highly-figured stock including a finely engraved steel buttplate, sling swivels, weight 7lb. 3oz.
