FRANCOTTE, LIEGE .297-230 SINGLE-SHOT CADET-RIFLE, MODEL 'MARTINI ACTION TRAINER', serial no. 1159, circa 1885, with blued 27 1/2in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, plain blued slab-sided receiver stamped with 'FRANCOTTE'S PATENT' in a roundel on the left hand side, polished feed-ramp, cocking indicator, blued iron furniture, full length walnut fore-end with two iron barrel-bands and nose-cap, provision for clearing rod (missing) and retaining some apparently original finish, 13 5/8in. pull including buttplate
