A SCARCE 8x60mmR (KROPATSCHEK) STEYR M1886 PORTUGUESE CONTRACT BOLT-ACTION SHORT-RIFLE, serial no. A693,
dated for 1886, with blued 26 3/8in. sighted barrel, rounded receiver, brushed bright bolt with straight bolt handle, the action body stamped 'OE.F.G. STEYR 1886', a ribboned crown over 'L.I.' and 'M1886', walnut full-stock (some bruising) with concealed full-length magazine tube and complete with cleaning rod mounted in a channel on the left hand side of fore-end, trigger guard with spurred tang, much finish remaining, all matching numbers and fitted with a later leather sling
