A GOOD CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION LANG'S PATENT RECIPROCATING TRANSITIONAL REVOLVER SIGNED PARKER FIELD & SON, serial no. 9913,
circa 1850, with blued octagonal 6in. barrel signed 'PARKER FIELD & SON, 233 HIGH HOLBORN, LONDON', engraved band at muzzle, dove-tailed fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight at throat, wedge barrel fastener and folding plunge rammer marked 'REGISTERED BY PARKER FIELD & SONS' (sic), six-shot fully fluted cylinder reciprocating onto the barrel-throat when cocked, scroll engraved boxlock action with radiused edges and with off-set single action hammer, finely chequered walnut grip swelling at the heel and fitted with a moulded and engraved iron cap with central trap, guarded trigger, strong amount of finish (some shallow frosting) and in its maker's oak casing with parchment trade label inside lid and with a suite of original accessories including a mould, bag-shaped flask, cap-tin, loading rod, oil bottle and two boxwood pots
