Circa 1840, with round turn-off 2 1/2in. barrel starred at the muzzle for a key and engraved with a band, folding triangular bayonet below barrel, border and scroll engraved central hammer action signed in a banner on the left 'FIELD' and 'OXFORD' in a similar banner on the right, top-tang safe, guarded trigger, the bow releasing the bayonet and slab-sided walnut butt with small boat-shaped escutcheon at wrist
