A RARE ETCHED MID-VICTORIAN CUTLERY-HILTED BOWIE-KNIFE SIGNED JOHN HUDSON,
circa 1850, with 8in. clip-point blade retaining much original polish, the left face of blade fully etched with scrolls around the central legend 'GOLD SEEKER'S PROTECTOR', the forte signed 'JOHN HUDSON, SHEFFIELD', boat-shaped nickel cross-guard, straight nickel hilt embossed with rococo ornament and complete with its nickel mounted blue velvet covered scabbard (frog button absent)
