A .44 (RIMFIRE) REMINGTON NEW MODEL ARMY REVOLVER WITH ROLLIN WHITE MARKINGS, serial no. 139673,
circa 1866 and factory converted from percussion, with blued octagonal 8in. barrel signed by the maker and marked 'NEW MODEL', pinched blade fore-sight, sighting groove to the solid top-strap, plain five-shot cylinder stamped with 'PATENTED APRIL 3rd 1855' (Rollin White's bored through cylinder patent), solid frame with brass trigger guard, smooth walnut grips, the left with traces of a martial cartouche, 'W' & 'G' inspector's stamps, fair amount of finish remaining
