A 12-BORE 1887 PATENT ROUND-ACTION' TRIGGERPLATE-ACTION EJECTOR, serial no. 4219,
for 25th October 1888, 28in. nitro replacement barrels (in 1953), the rib engraved 'NEW BARRELS BY. WILLIAM POWELL & SON. 35 CARRS LANE. BIRMINGHAM.' and with acanthus scroll detailing and a '1' at the breech end, barrels serial numbered 15104, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 3/4 and full choke, (bore measurements marginal in both), Dickson patent round-action incorporating patents 9399 and 10621 of 1887, use number 238, toplever engraved '1', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, treble-grip action, the fences with banded borders, plain action and furniture except for a scrolling banner engraved 'JOHN DICKSON & SON PATENT.', brushed bright finish throughout, 14 1/2in. figured pistolgrip stock (cracked and repaired at hand), horn pistolgrip cap (chipped) including 3/4in. rubber recoil pad, fore-end with recess forward of knuckle, finial engraved '1', weight 6lb. 1oz.
