A CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION SIX-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, serial no. 1184,
circa 1855, with sighted octagonal 6in. barrel, the top-strap signed 'R.S. GARDEN, 29 PICCADILLY, LONDON', with 'Tranters Patent' border-line engraved frame serial numbered 17466T, sliding safety to right-hand side, blued cylinder with rope-bordered front edge, chequered walnut saw-backed grip, bored through centrally and eyeletted for lanyard, front-strap initialled 'TEG', hinged 'Tranters Patent' rammer to left-hand side of barrel (some areas of heavy corrosion but retaining much original blued finish) TOGETHER WITH its original mahogany case lined in green baize (compartments loose or detached) with 'Rob. S. Garden' paper trade label to the lid interior and containing a brass 'Tranters Patent' double-cavity bullet mould, nickel oil bottle, cap-tin, a japanned tin of 'Tranter's' lubricating bullets (only two remaining) and a japanned tin of 'Tranter's' lubricating compound (case lock forced)
