A 4-BORE PERCUSSION SINGLE-SHOT RIFLE FOR BIG GAME SIGNED M. LEKEU, HAYEUR, serial no. 8024,
Belgian, circa 1870, with heavy two-stage 36 1/2in. barrel, applied nickel crescent fore-sight, elevating rear-sight with lock and side protectors, signed on the left-hand flat at breech 'M. LEKEU HAYEUR', hooked stepped breech with substantial top-tang, large scroll engraved back-action lock, plain heavy walnut half-stock, iron furniture (serial numbered inside the trigger-guard bow) and replacement iron ramrod (one old working repair to wood forwards of lock, small loss to wood opposite)
