28in. nitro barrels with 6mm raised matt top-ribs and side ribs, over barrels engraved 'LUCIANO BOSIS - BRESCIA ITALY', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, hold-open toplevers, automatic safeties, non-selective single triggers, gun no. 227A with pinless lockplates, the actions, lockplates and furniture finely engraved with scrolling acanthus and arabesque motifs on a matted background, the triggerplates signed 'Naida Martinelli', the fore-ends engraved en suite and gold-inset with the makers crest, No. 227A fore-end wood with internal knot flaw, bright finish overall, 15 1/4in. very highly-figured pistolgrip stocks with blank gold escutcheons, weight approx. 5lb. 10oz.
Provenance: The vendor, for whom the guns were built, has supplied us with the following information.
"Serial number 227 was supplied to me by Tony Kennedy and on receipt of the gun I was so taken by its quality and handling that I asked Bosis to supply a matching gun. This duly arrived, I think in February 2005, and is serial number 227A."
