circa 1775, with heavy flaring 17 1/2in. iron barrel (makers details rubbed and illegible), solid plain top-tang, military size curved and radiused pointed-tail lock signed 'ROGERS' (possibly refreshed), plain walnut 'hand-rail' full-stock (cracked and repaired at wrist and left side of fore-end), heavy brass border engraved furniture including serpentine side-plate and rococco escutcheon, heavy radiused border and scroll engraved trigger-guard tangs and bow, brass ramrod thimbles and brass tipped rammer (light pitting to exposed iron surfaces)
