numbers 2 and 3 of a trio, 28in. nitro reproved fine damascus barrels, rib inscriptions indistinct, gold-inlaid '2' and '3',2 1/2in. chambers, choke inserts approx. 1/4 and 1/2 (No.2) and imp. cyl. and 1/4 (No.3), wall thicknesses below recommended minimum;
new 28in. steel chopperlump barrels for No.2 gun London proofed 2003, rib engraved 'HENRY ATKIN (FROM PURDEY'S) . 2. JERMYN STREET. HAYMARKET. LONDON.' and gold-inlaid '2*', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 3/4 choke in both;
sidelever-opening actions with automatic safeties, gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, top tangs engraved '2' and '3', fine beaded border engraving, the undersides engraved 'HENRY ATKIN FROM PURDEY'S', the triggerguards gold-inlaid '2' and '3', retaining traces of original colour-hardening, 15 1/8in. highly-figured stocks including 1 1/8in. leather covered recoil pads, No.2 with minor crack at hand, No.3 with pinned crack at head, weight 5lb. 15oz., No.2 gun with new barrels weight 6lb. 7oz., in their lightweight leather case (no provision for spare barrels)
