for 1894-96, with heavy two-stage 30in. barrel, the top-flat signed 'MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS COMPANY, NEW HAVEN CONN USA', tunnel fore-sight with pivoting element, elevating buckhorn rearsight, folding micro-adjustable vernier tang-sight, dropping block action with central hammer, walnut pistol-grip butt-stock with ebony inlay to base of grip, substantial and rare nickel-plated 'Swiss-style' heavy curved heel-plate, blued under-lever and schnabel splinter fore-end with ebony inlay at tip, the whole retaining much original blued finish and colour-hardening where appropriate
