AN EXCEPTIONAL CASED PAIR OF .650 PERCUSSION OVER-UNDER OFFICERS BELT PISTOLS, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1850, with round colour-hardened London proved 5 1/2in. barrels, flat sighting-plane signed 'DOOLEY N. RANELAGH ST. LIVERPOOL', engraved band at the muzzles, scroll engraving to the breech-end, silver bead fore-sights, standing notch rear-sights to the scroll engraved top-plates, radiused corner border and scroll engraved side-hammer colour-hardened boxlock actions, scroll engraved dolphin-headed hammers, fire-blued sprung belt-hooks to the left hand side, extremely fine chequered walnut butts with engraved colour-hardened butt-caps with centrally mounted trapdoor cap-boxes, scroll engraved trigger-guard bows and captive iron ramrods with scroll engraved stirrups, both pistols remaining in a remarkable state of preservation and appearing little used TOGETHER WITH their manufacturers mahogany storage case, compartmented and lined in green baize (lid re-lined), parchment Dooley trade-label to inside of lid and complete with a number of period accessories including an embossed three-way flask (Riling 461), a scissors ball-mould, a cap-tin, a turn-screw, a nipple-key, an oil-bottle and a mahogany loading rod
