circa 1770, with slightly swamped 41 1/4in. round barrel, silver fore-sight bead set on a tear-drop shaped nickel ground, engraved short-rib at breech, London proofs and makers mark 'TH', sighting groove to the iron top-tang, slightly curved and radiused scroll engraved lock signed 'T. HADLEY', walnut hand-rail full-stock (ancient plated repair at wrist), rococco brass escutcheon and shell carving to wood behind top-tang, brass heel-plate engraved with a martial trophy to the top-spur, brass trigger-guard tang and bow with vase finial, provision for three cross wedges (one missing), three brass ramrod pipes including the throat and replacement iron ramrod
