A 16-BORE PINFIRE DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-GUN WITH PUSH-FORWARD UNDER-LEVER, no visible serial number,
circa 1860, with 31 1/2in. etched damascus barrel (cleaned of finish), the top-rib signed in gold 'L. PORTZIG IN GOSSNITZ', silver bead fore-sight, border and scroll engraved top-tang featuring a central panel engraved with a seated rabbit, carved pin-guards, borderline and vine scroll engraved back-action locks featuring scenes of game-birds, chequered walnut butt-stock enhanced with raised cheek-piece, brushed bright iron heel-plate with scroll engraved detail, moulded and carved horn trigger-guard tang cover, brushed bright trigger-guard bow engraved with borders, foliage and a stag in a woodland setting, scroll and shell engraved iron round-action body with engraved push-forward under-lever and smooth walnut detachable splinter fore-end.
