circa 1895, with demi-octagonal blued 31in. barrel, dove-tailed micro-adjustable fore-sight, short dove-tailed rail allowing repositioning of the micro-adjustable rear-sight, the top of rail inlaid in silver 'MAUSER OBERNDORF A NECKAR', octagonal scroll-engraved colour-hardened receiver, each scroll inlaid with a silver line, small straight-handled bolt with scroll engraved cocking piece and handle-boss, scroll engraved top-tang with provision for peep-sight (missing), walnut half-stock with colour-hardened Swiss-style heel-plate, large flat raised cheek-piece, colour-hardened trigger-guard with scroll engraved raised finger piece and finger spur, double set-trigger, further silver wire inlay to the trigger-plate and replacement under-barrel iron clearing rod with turned thimbles, much finish, possibly renewed
