Continental, circa 1720, with shortened smooth-bored 26 1/4in. damascus barrel, carved raised sighting-rib for the last four-fifths of its length with applied silver fore-sight blade, the breech-end carved with over-lapping lobes and inlaid in silver with a crowned crest beneath swags and above and acanthus scroll surround, white-metal lined touch-hole, slightly curved and radiused lock deeply relief carved and engraved with a wild boar and scrollwork on a punched ground, vacant cartouche forwards of the hammer, relief scroll engraved hammer, top-jaw and frizzen front, replacement wood full-stock with acanthus scroll relief carving forwards and behind the lock and sideplate, behind the top-tang and behind the raised cheek-piece, brass butt-plate, the top-spur engraved with a recumbent stag beneath a moulded foliate finial, en-suite trigger-guard bow and finial, pierced brass acanthus scroll sideplate featuring a profiled bust and monster's head, replacement wood ramrod and fitted for sling, iron surfaces cleaned
