made for the Swiss circa 1850 by Beuret Freres, Liege, with round 33in. rifled barrel, dove-tailed blade fore-sight, elevating tangent rear-sight with wing-nut lock, plain elongated colour-hardened top-tang, plain hump-back lock signed 'BF', plain walnut full-stock with 'roman-nose' comb (repaired through wrist), heavy iron hooked butt-plate, reinforced trigger-guard tang, double-set triggers, finger-spur to the trigger-guard bow, iron roll-tipped nose-cap, iron under-barrel ramrod with captive sliding ball-guides, socket to the right hand side of muzzle for a bayonet and iron sling swivels
