28in. nitro reproved bold damascus barrels, rib engraved 'S. GRANT. 67A ST. JAMES'S STREET. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both, some internal pitting, action incorporating E.C. Hodges patent extractor mechanism, patent no. 2996 of 15th November 1866, use number 171, (extractor not operating with tumbler fractured, missing extractor retaining screw), Jones patent rotary underlever, carved percussion fences, non-rebounding back-action locks with dolphin hammers, action flats with Hodges trade marks, best fine border and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining slight traces of original colour-hardening, 15in. figured stock including 1 1/8in. wooden extension, minor repairs to fore-end, weight 6lb. 12oz.
