A CHAIN WAIST-BELT FORMED FROM ELEVEN 'KASHIRA' WITH A 'TSUBA' BUCKLE,
assembled in the last half of the 19th century, the kashira of fine workmanship, of various metals and styles but all with gilded highlights or precious metal inlays, each soldered onto a brass backing plate and attached to the next via two short chains, the fine bronze pierced, moulded and carved tsuba formed as a perched eagle in a tree-top with gilded talons and beak, observing smaller gilded birds in flight and other ground dwelling creatures beneath, the reverse with brass buckle-catch, approximately 24in. in length
